Rich's Shed

Rich's shed is finished! It only took about 3 weeks to build (mostly on the weekends), and was built using our old fence we took down when we replaced it with a new beige vinyl fence. It was a good way to reuse the wood so it didn't go to waste. GREAT JOB RICH! I'm so glad my husband is so handy around the house! I love that about him! We will put all our garden/yard tools inside. He still has to put up the shelves, but that will only take a few hours or a day job.

A Mother's Love

November 1st, 2009...
Rachael (8 yrs) took this photo for the school's Reflections contest. The theme this year is, "BEAUTY IS..." and she hopes that this photo will be a winner!

"Beauty Is... a mother's love!"

I think she did a pretty good job of capturing it without me even knowing. I just wish we had a better camera to have taken it. Our camera isn't the best quality. Oh well. GREAT JOB RACHAEL!

TRICK-OR-TREAT

The kids entered a coloring contest at the Dollar Tree and because there were only 6 entries, all 6 (4 of which were my kids') got a big orange bag filled only a quarter way with candy and some halloween pencils. They decided to use those same orange bags that night for Trick-or-treating with their picture they colored still taped on the front! They were sooooo excited!!! I'm glad I talked them all into entering!

Luke's Baby Blessing

November 1, 2009 was the blessing of our 5th child, Luke William Cooley. There was only a small group there because we had the swine flu in our home all week...Qaiden started it off on Monday, then Rachael and Aleah had in on Wednesday, Jacob got it on Saturday night after Trick-or-treating, so he stayed home for Luke's baby blessing (that's why we took a picture of him on the "sick couch"). The Swine-Flu (H1N1) has been circulating throughout the neighborhood and really everywhere, but it wasn't as bad as the media predicted. It is just a little worse than a cold but not as bad as the regular flu. Aleah got it the worse...temperature got to 103, but only during that night until the early afternoon when she bounced back pretty fast...but we did take her in that morning to get some antibiotics and some other stuff. She only got it worse than the others because of her Hypotonia (low mucsle tone). Those with neuromuscular problems tend to get sicker than others we found out. Today (Sunday), Rich says he's coming down with a fever/chills now. So, my sister, Cheryl and her family didn't come (they have the stomach flu in their home right now) and my friend, Jenn and her husband, Mike Stoeber didn't come because they are expecting and didn't want to get exposed. Well, it turned out for the best...even though we missed seeing all of them. It was a nice blessing nonetheless and noone came over for soup/rolls/salad/pumpkin pie for that reason. Thank you to those that came at least for the blessing...Ron/Bertha (friends), Aunt Karen/Uncle Wynn, Shelley(sister)/Paul, and Dad. It sure was nice to see you all at this special occasion! Sorry to those who didn't make it but we'll see you soon I'm sure.

Qaiden's Ice Cream SMILE!

Aleah LOVE's her ice cream!

Logan Canyon Trip

October 31st, 2009...
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
We took a drive up through the Sardine Canyon to Logan, Utah for the famous AGGIE ICE CREAM...
YUMMY! Richard's father, drove up from Missouri for Luke's baby blessing and so we all drove to see where we used to live from 2001-2004 and where our middle child, Qaiden was born. It was a nice trip, but not as scenic as I thought it would be. All the BEAUTIFUL colorful leaves had already dropped. That is such a spectacular sight to see if you want to see what FALL should look like. Oh well, I guess we'll go up again next year. We ended up getting home just in time for the kids to get ready for Trick-or-treating that night. YEAH!!

Funny Kid Moments!

December 20, 2011- We were all in the kitchen making gingerbread and I had just taken out the first batch of the gingerbread boy and girl. As I attempted to scrape up the girl on the spatula, she was too soft and started to fall apart as I quickly placed the mangled mess on the brown paper bag! Qaiden pointed to the messed up cookie and said, "Ladies first!" and "Mom killed her!" It was just so funny I changed from being really upset that I had ruined the cookie to laughing so hard at the random funny comment! I keep telling the boys, "Ladies first", and I guess it is sinking in!

November 2011- I like to recycle plastic containers and so I had just washed out one of them and placed the plastic lid on top the toaster (near the sink) to dry. Jacob went to put some bread in the toaster and while in there, the lid melted! Just a little while later as I was getting dinner prepared, Qaiden sat on the stove counter right next to the hot stove top. I told Q to get down off the counter but he was slow to obey. I had turned off the stove, but one of the burners was still hot and so as Q sat there, his coat was lying on the still hot burner and his inner part of the coat melted. I was a bit angry with him for not being obedient and was pretty frustrated. At this point, I turned to the boys and said, "Ok, and the winner for the 'NO-BRAINER' award goes to...drum roll please...QAIDEN!" I changed from being angry to laughing because of how funny my own comment seemed to me! ;) (Sometimes you just gotta laugh at yourself!)So, whenever we do something stupidly funny, we call it the NO-BRAINER award! It's become quite funny to see some of the silly things we do each day!

May 25, 2010- As the kids got ready for school this morning, I asked Rachael if she remembered to get a leotard for Gymnastics today after school. Qaiden overheard and said "...it's NOT Aleah-tard, it's a Rachael-tard! And I would wear a Qaiden-tard!" Ohhhh the silly things that kids come up with!

Jan 20, 2010- I was in the middle of winding the cord of our kirby vacuum cleaner while singing 'Ring around the rosies a pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes we all fall down'...and Aleah just standing there all the sudden dropped to her bottom without bending her knees (looked a little awkward). It was just one of those moments that made me laugh because it was so unexpected!
